PTSD Help And Awareness Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

PTSD Help And Awareness.

Post Traumaaatic Stress Disorder…..A normal reaction to an abnormal situation.

PTSD Help And Awareness was started by Nic Castle after being diagnosed with PTSD. He was the victim of a serious assault whilst serving as a police officer in Lancashire Constabulary (UK).

Over the next ten years he experienced many situations both good and bad. From these experiences it came to light that there were several needs. Firstly outside the military there was a lack of help and support for people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD and their families/carers. Secondly there is a lack of awareness and understanding of PTSD. Sadly this was often the case in organisations that you would expect to not only have a high level of knowledge of dealing with the condition of PTSD.

PTSD Help And Awareness was started, initially under the name of PTSD – My Story then adopting the current name PTSD Help And Awareness.  What started as something to give information out over the internet, very quickly became much more. More and more we here about PTSD and how it effects people, yet we have less support for people who are not connected with the military.  All victims of PTSD need the same support, it doesn’t matter who or what you are. In addition to that we recognised that another section of people were generally overlooked, this was the families. The effect on families you have one person with PTSD is colossal. But where do they turn for help? The answer to us was easy……PTSD HELP AND AWARENESS AWARENESS was born.

It doesn’t matter what caused the condition or your background (Whether you served in the military, we are here to help you and your family.) you have arrived at a place you can find the help, advice and support you and your family/carer may need to deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD.

PTSD Help And Awareness also offers help to organisations to help raise the awareness of PTSD. We will work with organisations to run events or provide training to ensure that people are aware of the condition and the impact it has on individuals, organisations and the general public.

PTSD is a condition that can effect anyone and the cause can be as unique as the number of people with the condition. Just as the cause is different the symptoms are unique to the person with the condition. The symptoms come under General headings, for example depression, avoidance, anxiety, etc but the way they manifest with every individual. so welcome to PTSD Help And Awareness, take a little time to look around the site. 1. I nearly killed four of my own men in the early hours of the morning in the middle east in a vehicle accident ex soldier now for the past four years or so. IM on meds for anxiety it’s like living with the kill switch on I always look over my shoulder watching waiting situation awarness constantly on until IM tired then I wake up ready to start again it’s a viscous cycle sometimes old rather not want to wake up. PTSD is no joke.

  2. The short details I’ve shared are true how ever the public as usual where not informed, the prime minister at the time was nice enough to send a spook to see how I was, I never even recieved my medal of full service and yet I would still protect you and your brothers and my own before myself onward
